Stress Anxiety & Depression

Most of us have many reasons in our life to be happy, but some people are unable to enjoy life due to stress, anxiety or depression. More than one in five Australians suffer from anxiety or mood disorders. That’s more than 3.3 million, and each year another 20 000 more people are diagnosed with a mental illness. Unfortunately current pharmaceutical treatment falls well short of dealing with the problem effectively, with some studies suggesting they have no real benefit at all. An effective holistic treatment strategy designed to restore the balance to a person’s physical, mental and emotional health is the best option. Our brain requires a lot of energy to function correctly and although it is only 2% of our body mass it uses over 20% of our body’s energy. If the nerve cells in our brain run out of energy mental dysfunction can occur. Chronic stress can contribute to the death of nerve cells in the brain, with actual brain shrinkage happening in server mental health disorders. Stress can also cause inflammation and oxidative damage which can lead to chemical imbalances in the brain. Everyone has their own individual response to stress and these responses help guide me in selecting the best treatment plan for each person. By following a simple program people are able to restore and maintain their mental function. We can’t always remove the stress in our lives but I can certainly help you cope with it more effectively. Because life’s too short to be unhappy.
